Kasol → Grahan Village
~45 min drive + ~1h trek — After a morning briefing at the Kasol base camp, you follow the Grahan Nallah upstream through dense pine and deodar forest, crossing the stream a couple of times before reaching Grahan Village (~7,700 ft). The 9–10 km walk takes 5–6 hours and is non-technical, with shaded sections ideal for easing into the trek. Grahan is one of the few traditional Himachali villages still reachable only on foot — old wooden houses, slate roofs and an unhurried pace.

Grahan → Min Thach
5–6h — Shorter in distance but steeper — a 6–7 km climb of nearly 3,500 ft from Grahan to Min Thach (~11,000 ft). The trail leaves the village, gains height quickly through oak and rhododendron forest, and emerges onto open grassy slopes. In May–June you'll often hit your first snow patches under the trees. Min Thach is a wide sloping pasture with the snow-streaked Parvati range as a backdrop — one of the best sunset campsites of the entire trek.

Min Thach → Nagaru
4–5h — A short but lung-testing 6 km day from Min Thach up to the highest campsite at Nagaru (~12,500 ft). The trail steepens immediately, the tree line fades, and the landscape opens into bare alpine terrain — often hard-packed snow in peak season, so an early start is essential. Nagaru is a narrow ridge camp with sweeping 270° views but famously cold and windy, with sub-zero nights. Camp early, dinner before dark, alpine start tomorrow.

Nagaru
Nagaru → Sar Pass → Biskeri Thach
7–8h — Summit day — the longest and most rewarding day on the trek. A 4–5 AM start from Nagaru with a steep climb over snow and frozen scree to Sar Pass at 13,800 ft, reaching the top by mid-morning. From the summit, a full panorama of the Parvati and Pir Panjal ranges opens up. The descent is the famous moment: a long natural snow slide that drops you several hundred metres in minutes, followed by a gradual walk into Biskeri Thach (~11,000 ft). 13–14 km, 8–9 hours.

Biskeri Thach → Pulga → Kasol
4–5h trek + ~1h drive — The final day is a downhill leg-burner — about 8 km in 4–5 hours, mostly steep descent through dense pine and rhododendron forest to the twin hydroelectric villages of Pulga and Tulga (~7,800 ft). Trekking poles really help here. From Pulga it's a short walk to Barshaini, then a 1–1.5 hour drive back to Kasol with the obligatory victory photo at the Parvati river bridge. Most groups are back at base by mid-afternoon.
